Reid Turner

Hi there, my name is Reid Turner, I am currently 21 years old and the CAD manager for the team. I am the second point of contact for both the client as well as the instructors. I am really excited to fulfil our client’s wishes to make a CNC-controlled tubing bender as it would be a great learning experience and introduction into the Mechanical Engineering field. In my spare time, I like to work on my cars and modify them for better performance. For this reason, after completing the Mechanical Engineering program, I hope to pursue a career in automotive design. I believe this project of automating a manufacturing process in order to produce car chassis is a great first step in the right direction.

Cody Short

Hello, my name is Cody Short and I am 26 years old. I was born and raised in Victoria and graduated from Claremont Secondary School in 2012. My interest in this project peaked due to the high mechanical complexity and overall challenge of the task. I enjoy learning and working with systems that have lots of moving parts. It will be my duty to oversee the financial, administrative, accounting, and I will be the primary contact with the client. Prior to starting school, I played important leadership roles on high-level hockey and lacrosse teams. With those past experiences, I will transfer those skills into the classroom and workplace to help elevate the team's success wherever it is needed. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Kirsten Abajero

Hi, my name is Kirsten Abajero, but I generally go by Kirt for short. I am the project manager for the team and I will be overseeing the planning and organization of specific tasks while ensuring that we complete our tasks in time and within the scope of the project. I am 22 years old and I love to work on electronic components to see how they work. I am excited to work together with a group of individuals who are keen to deliver an exceptional product. I hope by the end of the project, we fulfill the clients’ needs and understand the fundamentals of how to work together as a team and what individual responsibilities we need to attain. From my standpoint, the tube bending project is a step in the right direction because the project appears to be a great learning experience to understand both the process of working as a technologist and to deliver the needs of the client.

Sean Lynch

Hi, my name is Sean Lynch, I’m a retired Royal Canadian Airforce mechanic who primarily worked on the CF-188 platform. When I retired I was a junior supervisor who achieved the rank of Master Corporal. Working in that job taught me a lot about time management, technical aspects, some supervisory skills and conflict management skills. While serving I developed an allergy which caused me to change my career path. I’m looking forward to seeing what this group can develop for the customer, and I hope they will be pleased with the result.
